I wish that day didn't happen

I wish that day didn’t happen
The day we went out to skate
You were a little late, but I did not mind
Finally showed up looking so fine
We went up to check if we could partake
But were told the fun only starts at 8
We couldn’t wait till it got dark
So we left to the mall, still chasing skate parks
Some ice cream and shakes and cakes we stuffed down
Then made our way across town
Sat together for our final meal
That was when it became unreal
I couldn’t explain it
Like a lightning strike out of the blue
It hit me like I caught the flu
Left me dazzled without a clue of what to do next
I suddenly found myself yearning
Yearning for more
More of you
Your voice, your laugh, your touch, your presence, your very essence
Now I’m here confused, endlessly thinking of you
While, I’m sure, you have no clue
Not about the feelings I’m developing
Not about the effect your notifications are having
Not about my persistent longing
Each day just makes it worse
I want you more than I can put into words
It hurts
Yet each time I hear from you, it soothes me
Only for you to vanish again, quietly, indefinitely
I wish that day didn’t happen
Then perhaps I wouldn’t be so disheartened
Longing for you but too scared to fall in
Love
